Are you a CTO with hands-on development experience and interested in the virtual currency space? Are you a CTO with experience building and scaling distributed, real-time systems capable of processing extremely high volumes of requests? If so, this role may be for you.

Located in NYC, this early-stage, but extremely well-funded startup is building a world class financial exchange focused on algorithmic based commodities and virtual currencies. They are looking for a hands-on CTO to architect and design large-scales systems that are the heart of the business. Using the latest technology including Node.JS, Redis, and C++, this CTO will constantly be learning and tackling unique challenges.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Be involved in hands-on development with the latest technologies
Architect and design large scale systems
Build beautiful user interfaces processing lots of bits
Design, implement, and trouble shoot software
Work with cloud technologies including Akamai and AWS
Build out the engineering team

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED:

Experience building distributed, real time systems capable of processing very large volumes of requests
Expertise in developing Node.js applications in JavaScript and run within the Node.js runtime deployed Windows and Linux
Expertise in developing high-quality Object-Oriented code including C++ and Java
Expertise in developing cutting-edge solutions using functional & dynamic languages such as JavaScript, F#, or Scala
Well-versed in automated testing with experience using test frameworks like NUnit
Strong system and applications troubleshooting and performance tuning skills (Hardware, Windows, Linux, Networking, IIS, etc.)
Ability to work through the entire stack from user interface through systems levels

Desired skills:

Experience with building REST web services
Exposure to Redis, MongoDB, Map-Reduce and other related NoSQL distributed systems technologies
Experience with Hibernate, EFF, and other ORM technologies
Previous start-up experience
