Armory is a BitCoin and wallet and management tool and I heard about it on the Let’s Talk BitCoin podcast. The presenter of the podcast was talking to the developer of the application and saying how good it was for keeping your BitCoins safe. You can do things like making a paper wallet and having your BitCoin wallet safely off-line. I don’t think it is incredibly likely, but there is always a possibility that your BitCoin could get stolen if you also have your BitCoin wallet available online, that is having a computer connected to the Internet.

A bit of a cock up!

At the moment I am a little bit worried. I set up a wallet in the Armory application and did a send transaction from the BitCoin QT application, which was what I was supposed to do and so far that transaction hasn’t arrived yet in Armory. I am starting to wonder if I have done something wrong and I’m worried that I have lost all my BitCoins into the ether. I am thinking that what has happened is that Armory hasn’t downloaded all of the Block Chain as it says at the bottom that it has connected and has downloaded 234, 436 blocks. I then have a look in the BitCoin QT application and I see that the block chain has gone to 238, 671,so there is a little bit of a discrepancy there.

When I first started up the Armory application I did so before the block chain on BitCoin QT was fully up-to-date and maybe that has something to do with the problem. Maybe I just need to be patient but based upon the speed of the previous transactions that have made from MtGox to my BitCoin QT wallet,I expected to see the transaction already in Armory. I have tried closing down the application and restarting and in fact I have tried closing down both applications and doing a restart.
