How to backup Bitcoin QT Wallet?

Bitcoin help for beginner?

I have recently started using Bitcoins, and I need a little help. I currently use the Multibit client on Windows, and I have about $0.31 stored in one wallet.

Is it good practice to use this one wallet for all my Bitcoins?

How do I backup the wallet to say a flash drive in case my computer dies? (I heard you can also write down the private keys on a piece of paper…how exactly does this work?)

Since the wallet is only on my computer, it's often inconvenient to use it if I'm away from the laptop (duh). I've researched the Blockchain online wallet, and it seems like a good alternative. Is it safe, and what are the positives and negatives of using an online wallet?

If your client is only at 74% then it can't see the transaction yet – make a back up of your wallet to a usb stick incase you need to reinstall or something (file->back up wallet). Don;t lose this wallet!

Enter the receiving address here: to check if it's actually been transmitted by mt.gox (they don't always do it instantly) – if it's definitely here then you will eventually get your bitcoins once the block chain downloads.

Check your mt.gox account to see if it's actually been transmitted.

2.
You NEED a good screen and keyboard, the Keyboard because you will be spending ALLOT of time using it, so a top of the line, full size backlit keyboard, no substitutions accepted is a must.
As an engineering student, a high end screen is a no brainer, not only for your own eyes but for those important moments when you have to show your teacher something and it has to look its best.

3.
A 2nd extra battery, you never know, but when the time comes and you absolutely need it, you will thank yourself for spending that extra 50$, be it for emergency phone charging or forge ting to charge, long classes, etc.

4.
Touchscreens, Its not required, its something extra for a student to worry about breaking, its something M$ is strongly pushing to try and put the final nail in the coffin of their injured competitor, Apple who has lost Steve jobs, this is an extravagance added cost and should be considered a luxury for your consideration depending on your budget.
